The Origin of Teacher’s Day
Respecting teachers and valuing education is a Chinese tradition. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in the 11th century B.C., the idea was put forward that “a student’s reverence for his teacher should be as profound as his respect for his father.”

1985 In that year, the Ninth Session of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress adopted the State Council’s proposal to establish Teachers’ Day. The session decided to designate September 10th of each year as Teachers’ Day.
