To fully implement the Party Central Committee’s, provincial and municipal Party committees’, and the Party Committee of the Business & Travel Group’s arrangements for the centenary celebration of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the Party history study and education campaign, Tianyuan Building has closely adhered to the guiding principle and standard of “using Party building as the overall leadership to promote development and strengthen operations.” It has actively launched a series of activities celebrating the Party’s centenary and studying its history, comprehensively advancing high-quality development of Tianyuan Building and laying a solid foundation for providing high-quality services during the 2022 Asian Games.

Study Party History · Deepen Ideological Understanding

On the afternoon of April 12, Hangzhou Tianyuan Building held the launch ceremony for the “Forever Follow the Party, Strive on a New Journey” Red Film Viewing Season.

The revolutionary spirit and patriotic sentiments embodied in red films are invaluable treasures of the Party and the country, influencing generation after generation. By watching these red films, we can promote and spread the “red gene,” deepen our patriotic feelings, and unite our confidence and strength. At the launch ceremony, the Party branch secretary and general manager of Tianyuan Building stated: “We must use diversified, enriched, and innovative learning methods to thoroughly study and deeply understand the history of the Party. ‘Using Party building as the guiding principle to drive development and strengthen operations’ has always been Tianyuan Building’s working guideline and standard as a state-owned enterprise. To highlight the responsibility and commitment of state-owned enterprises, launching this public-benefit red-film viewing season is yet another step toward deepening and solidifying Party history education.”

“Always Follow the Party and Forge Ahead on a New Journey”—the Red Film Screening Season at Tianyuan Building will run from April through July. During this period, nine red films will be screened each month in a continuous loop from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Cinema Hall of the China Go Museum. This screening event is not only open to residents of Tianyuan Building but also welcomes guests and local citizens to join us in watching these films, learning together about modern Chinese history, receiving revolutionary education, revisiting the faith of our revolutionary forebears, and carrying forward the red gene.

Following the launch ceremony, representatives from the Party, the trade union, and the Youth League watched together “The Founding of the Communist Party of China.” The film retraced the glorious journey of the Party’s founding, highlighted its outstanding achievements, and inspired party members and cadres to love and uphold the Party, firmly committing themselves to following the Party’s lead. Comrades expressed that the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake witnessed the birth of the Party; we must integrate the spirit of the Red Boat into our daily lives and business operations—daring to be pioneers, blazing new trails, and working together to make Tianyuan Building a benchmark hotel awarded the Golden Key, thereby achieving the goal of delivering high-level service quality in Zhejiang and across the country. We must remain steadfast in our ideals and unyielding in the face of adversity. As employees of state-owned enterprises and as members of the Tianyuan family, we will continue to forge ahead bravely on the nation’s new journey, further promoting the spirit of “serving the people like an ox, pioneering innovation like an ox, and working hard and enduring like an ox.” Upholding the principle of serving the public and remaining loyal to the people, we will stay true to our original aspirations and mission, always doing practical and beneficial things for the masses, and greet the 100th anniversary of the Party’s founding with even greater enthusiasm and outstanding achievements.

To deepen the special campaign for enhancing enterprise services and to further advance Party history study and education, we are leveraging project leadership as a key driver to mobilize Party members to focus on the hotel’s key annual tasks and the objectives of the service-quality enhancement initiative. By taking the lead in tackling the most challenging and critical tasks, we aim to promote the deep integration of Party building with production and operations, ensuring that the Party flag flies high at the forefront of service quality improvement and overcoming difficulties to achieve greater efficiency. The Party branch of Tianyuan Building has set “Building a Benchmark Hotel for the Key International Keys Alliance” as its key task and has signed responsibility agreements with Party members to commit to this goal.

The branch secretary and the leader of each Party group, as well as the Party group leader and each group member, have each signed a responsibility letter. “Demonstrating strong Party spirit and setting an example through proactive action; willingly taking on heavy responsibilities and boldly striving for excellence; forever upholding our original aspirations and mission, and striving to be pioneers in the hotel industry”—this embodies the spiritual essence of Party members in the establishment of benchmark hotels under the Golden Key International Alliance. The branch secretary emphasized that every Party member should consistently play a leading and exemplary role, closely aligning with the Golden Key 5C evaluation standards, fully and effectively integrating into the process of building benchmark hotels within the Golden Key International Alliance, carrying forward the outstanding traditions of Party members—being particularly resilient and exceptionally capable in combat—and actively inspiring colleagues around them. He urged all party members—whether state-owned enterprise employees or fighters of the new era—to closely follow the Party’s steps, take Party building as the guiding principle, and regard “establishing a benchmark hotel under the Golden Key International Alliance” as their core work objective, striving vigorously to build the service industry into an “important window” and continuing to forge ahead with unremitting efforts.

After class, the Party branch held an expanded study meeting of the April theoretical study group. The branch secretary and members of the branch committee took turns leading the study and reading of four articles: “Xi Jinping in Zhejiang” (Articles 36–38) and “Xi Jinping’s Scientific Thinking Methods: Exploration and Practice in Zhejiang.” They also shared their insights and reflections. All Party members expressed that through studying General Secretary Xi’s deeds and philosophies, they have fully grasped the importance of integrating theory with practice. Party building provides the guiding force that unites and drives enterprise development, while project leadership ensures comprehensive breakthroughs and creates value. We must continue to deepen our study and learning, contributing our commercial and technological strengths to Hangzhou’s high-level development into a “Digital and Intelligent Hangzhou—a Livable Paradise,” and accelerating the city’s transformation into a modern, international metropolis under socialism.

Study Party History · Do Practical Things

On the afternoons of April 19 and 20, the retraining session for the creation and enhancement of the Golden Key 5C benchmark hotel at Tianyuan Building in Hangzhou was held in Tianyuan Hall on the fifth floor of the hotel.

At the outset of the meeting, the Party branch secretary and general manager of Tianyuan Building delivered a mobilization speech and further reinforced the Golden Key concept through a live Q&A session, thereby introducing the training theme: “Re-training for Establishing and Enhancing 5C Benchmark Hotels under the Golden Key Framework.”

Hua Wei, Marketing Department Manager and Deputy General Manager of the Front Office at Tianyuan Building, took the Chengdu Airport Grand Hotel as an example and provided a detailed explanation—centered on the theme of “Inspection and Quality Assessment Techniques and Key Points”—of 15 standard operational procedures, including room reservations, check-in registration, guest arrival, switchboard services, and room cleaning.

Chen Huifang, Manager of the Procurement and Human Resources Departments at Tianyuan Building, delivered a presentation titled “On-site Inspection of the Back-of-House Areas at Chengdu Airport Grand Hotel in 2021,” explaining how various hotel departments can benchmark themselves against the 5C standards in back-of-house management.

Shi Wei, Property Management Center and Security Department Manager at Tianyuan Building, presented a detailed overview of the current issues at Tianyuan Building—based on on-site inspections and supported by photographs—from 14 different aspects, including “arrival at the hotel,” “check-in,” “room service,” and “meal delivery.” He then urged all departments to promptly implement corrective measures.

Ju Jun, Assistant Manager of the Front Desk Department at Tianyuan Building, conducted hotel etiquette training for all staff members, using the Golden Key standards as a guide and focusing on three key areas: “appearance and grooming,” “courtesy and manners,” and “behavioral etiquette.”

At the conclusion of the training, the Party branch secretary and general manager of Tianyuan Building stated that all hotel staff should start with themselves and begin right now to fully implement the Golden Key 5C Quality Assessment Standards, thereby turning Tianyuan Building into a “golden hallmark” of quality service in Zhejiang Province. Everyone must always keep in mind the Golden Key’s core values and service standards, preparing diligently for the 2022 Asian Games and laying a solid foundation for establishing the hotel industry as an “important window” of excellence.

On April 21, the hotel temporarily added a meeting for 600 people. Faced with a severe shortage of staff, the Party members and middle-level cadres of Tianyuan Building upheld the spirit of “Party members taking the lead in fulfilling their mission.” They fully demonstrated their exemplary and pioneering role, efficiently completing all preparatory tasks for the meeting and vividly embodying the sense of responsibility and commitment of Party members through concrete actions! The Party members stated: “Each department is a fortress; each Party member is a banner. Every Party member is a pioneer. As a member of the Golden Key International Alliance Hotel, we must ensure top-notch service quality. No matter when or under what circumstances, Party members must always be at the forefront, wholeheartedly providing excellent service and delivering a satisfactory outcome to our guests and the hotel itself.”

Study Party History · Uphold Our Original Aspiration

On April 15, 2021, representatives from the Party, labor union, and Youth League of Tianyuan Building went to the Hangzhou Party-Mass Service Center to carry out a themed Party Day activity titled “Listen to Red Lectures and Party Classes, Recall Party History and Put Our Original Aspirations into Practice.” During the activity, they listened to a special Party history lecture titled “A Glorious Journey—The Centennial of the Communist Party of China” delivered by Teacher Wu Baihua from the Hangzhou Municipal Party School.

Through this thematic Party Day activity and the Party history lecture, all representatives underwent a profound ideological cleansing and further strengthened their conviction in following the Party. The representatives unanimously expressed: “We must intensify our study of Party history, deeply grasp its essence, stay true to our original aspirations and keep our mission firmly in mind, and strive to build Tianyuan Building into a benchmark hotel—a ‘golden key’—thus promoting the high-quality development of our hotel and contributing our own efforts. With concrete actions, we will celebrate the Party’s birthday.”
